The Building Inspections and Code Enforcement Division wanted to share some tips for completing successful home improvement projects. See the attached handout for details of what is required to submit a residential permit. Primary homeowner responsibilities include;
• Confirm that work on your property has all required building permits by contacting Building Inspections or visiting eTrakit. The City’s electronic permitting system has expedited service for heating/cooling systems, roofs with the same material, water heaters, doors and windows, and minor electrical and plumbing projects.
• Confirm that the contractor(s) you select are registered with the City (check their Registration status on eTrakit).
• Confirm that all necessary inspections are requested. Visit eTrakit to schedule an inspection and see the current day’s inspections.
